What is
a Medical
Home?
A medical home is having one place for all healthcare needs. But a medical home is more than just a place; it's a patient's safe haven where all medical and non-medical needs are met.
At Lubbock Children's Health Clinic, your medical home is built on the belief that all children deserve quality care regardless of race, background, history, insurance, or financial status. Our culture is centered on high standards and strong values to ensure we are providing healthcare from the heart for whole-body health and wellness.
Why have a medical home?
A medical home gives your children the advantage of consistent care and staying healthy. Small health problems seldom grow into big ones if they are caught early. And early detection is possible with regular examinations.
We encourage all families to establish a medical home like Lubbock Children's Health Clinic, to benefit from regular care and long-term relationships with trusted medical professionals.
PREVENTATIVE HEALTH
As a pediatric clinic, we Lubbock Children's Health Clinic is focused on acute and preventive care for any child served by our clinic. Preventive care is very important in assessing a child's health when they are not ill. This allows our nurse practitioners the opportunity to determine if the child has any delays in development, nutritional risks, or other a risk conditions.

Preventative health care means taking steps to prevent diseases, illness, and injuries rather than treating the symptoms. Preventive visits include physical exams, sports physicals, developmental screening, nutritional evaluations, vision and hearing screening, health education, laboratory testing, and immunizations.
IMMUNIZATIONS
Lubbock Children's Health Clinics recognize the first step in well child care is proper immunizations. Please bring a copy of your child's immunization record to each visit. LCHC is using the state registry for immunizations ImmTrac to enter all immunizations that a child receives at our clinics. This will help your child stay up to date and eliminate the possibility of your child getting duplicate immunization.
